In Buddhism, meditation plays an important role in one's ability to pursue a path towards liberation, awakening and Nirvana. In the most general definition, meditation is a way of taking control of the mind so that it becomes peaceful and focused, and the meditator becomes more aware. When we made this necklace and started wearing it, it was hard not to play with the charms. They reminded us of a tool for meditation, to help focus our attention on the present moment.
Using small brass beads, each necklace is hand-fabricated in our studio in East Austin.
